*NEW* The Burning Bush

Saint Miriam is starting a campaign to raise funds to reduce our environmental impact and also reduce our monthly lighting/electrical expenses by 94%. We will purchase 80 LED bulbs and dedicate our newest piece of liturgical furniture - a votive candle memorial for our sanctuary - that we will call our "Burning Bush" to all those who give to this campaign. (See photo). These bulbs will be located throughout the parish including the sanctuary, and have a life expectancy of 12 to15 years. For each donation of $100, every donor receives a “golden light bulb” lapel pin, and their name, or a loved one's name, will be engraved on a plaque on our Founder's Wall.

A New Church for Saint Miriam means Opportunities to Help us Grow!

Have you ever wondered what it was like for our parents and grandparents to be part of building a parish that never was before their love, dedication, and effort? Well, now you can be part of something that very few ever experience...the building of a parish!

There will be several ways to help. Apart from needing direct gift donations, we are asking that every member purchase at minimum of one chair for themselves and another for a guest. Each chair will cost only $50 each; for a total of $100.00 per parishioner. If you cannot afford two chairs, please purchase at least one.

The chairs are high quality worship chairs, with full lumbar support and extra wide seats for great comfort; they are rated to 1600 pounds and will come in a deep blue with pin dot design! Each will be afforded a donation plaque to offer in memory or honor of someone you love.

A sample chair has arrived and is available for your inspection after Mass in the Fellowship Space.

**PLEASE NOTE** These chairs are intended for use in the area of the new church occupied by the congregation during Mass. All Chairs will be shipped directly to Saint Miriam Church.

AED (Defibrillator) - $2,200.00
Donations of any denomination are graciously accepted.

Each year, 350,000 people die from sudden cardiac arrest (heart stops beating) in the United States. Most sudden cardiac arrests are caused by a disturbance in the heart's electrical system, causing a non-productive heart rShythm, which causes the heart to stop beating.

The AED (Automated External Defibrillator), is a medical device that delivers an electric shock to the heart. This is done to interrupt non-productive heart rhythms and cause the heart to resume beating.

According to the American Heart Association, the most important step in saving the life of a cardiac arrest patient is early defibrillation. Early defibrillation is even more important, and more effective than CPR in adults.

Today, many companies and public places are required to have AEDs, due to their importance in saving lives. Saint Miriam would like to place an AED in our parish, thereby increasing chances of survival. Although it will be expensive to buy all these units, who can place a price on a human life?

A dedication can be inscribed on the donated AED.

Room Dedications Available for the new Saint Miriam!

Saint Miriam will begin to offer 'room memorials and designations" beginning in February. We will hold off until after we have been in our new space to allow people to visit and to gain a feel for where they might like to make an added gift of this size.

We will work it this way: any person, company, or family (at the discretion of the Pastor and Board of Saint Miriam) may give a monetary gift to the parish and designate one of our main areas as a lasting memorial or honor of.

For instance, if the Smith Family wished to make such a donation for the Library, a beautiful cast plaque will be placed directly outside of the new Library and may read: "The Library of Saint Miriam, given to the Glory of God with a special gift from The John Jacob Smith Family, 2010."

The rooms and areas available are: the Library, Sacristy, Fellowship Hall, PREP/Multi-Use, Cancel, Presidium, Main Entrance, and the Outdoor Courtyard.

There are also a few designated items that need memorials and they include the outdoor flag pole, altar, pulpit, and altar cross, four stained-glass windows.

Please contact

Email: or

Email: for more details and spread the word to those you know who may be in a position for such a memorial.
